Mystic Chess pieces
The silhouette tells you how a piece moves. Its crest hints at its power. Choose a piece to learn the details.
- Soldier: Standard pawn. Moves forward 1 square, captures diagonally. Can move 2 squares on first move.
- Advanced Soldier: Can move 3 squares forward on its first move instead of 2. Passive ability.
- Shield Soldier: Has a shield that blocks the first capture attempt. After being hit once, becomes a normal soldier.
- Mirror Soldier: Always active. If captured by an enemy soldier, that soldier dies as well.
- Alchemy Soldier: After capturing 2 enemy pieces, evolves into a knight.
- Scout Soldier: Scout Dash. Move 1 square in any direction to an empty square.
- Berserk Soldier: Berserk Strike. Capture the piece directly in front of this soldier.
- Phantom Soldier: Phantom Walk. Walk 1–3 squares forward through pieces. An enemy king in the way gives check.
- Twin Soldier: If there is another twin soldier adjacent, both get +1 movement range.
- Wall Soldier: Prevents enemy knights from landing on it. Can be captured normally by other pieces.
- Ghost Soldier: Ghost Step. Teleport 2 squares vertically. An enemy king in the way gives check.
- Charge Soldier: Charge. Move forward any number of squares once.
- Iron Soldier: Soldiers (including soldier powers) and plain knights cannot capture it. Any other piece can.
- Mystic Soldier: Mystic Swap. From your own half (ranks 2–4 / 5–7), swap places with any friendly piece in that zone.
- Knight: Standard knight. Moves in an L-shape (2+1 squares). Can jump over pieces.
- Long Knight: Long Reach. Move in extended L-shapes (3+1) this turn.
- Serial Knight: Serial Jump. Make 2 consecutive knight moves.
- Plan Knight: Straight Jump. Jump exactly 3 squares straight. An enemy king in the way gives check.
- Jump Knight: Super Jump. Jump to any square within 3x3 area.
- Bishop: Standard bishop. Moves diagonally any number of squares.
- Chameleon Bishop: Color Swap. Switch to the opposite color square.
- Laser Bishop: Laser Beam. Move up to 3 squares, damaging enemies in the path.
- Portal Bishop: Portal. Teleport to any empty square in your first 4 ranks.
- Rook: Standard rook. Moves horizontally or vertically any number of squares.
- Iron Rook: Soldiers (including soldier powers) and plain knights cannot capture it. Any other piece can.
- Cannon Rook: Cannon Shot. Hit an enemy 3–5 squares away in a straight line, firing over anything. A king in the line of fire gives check.
- Strong Rook: Survives 1 attack from standard pawns/soldiers. Dies instantly to any other piece or power.
- Queen: Standard queen. Combines rook and bishop movement.
- Supreme Queen: Warp. Warp to an empty square in your home rows.
- Revive Queen: Resurrection. Return your last captured soldier, knight or bishop to your first 3 ranks.
- Storm Queen: Storm Dash. One knight-style jump. Landing on the enemy king gives check: they must move the king. Ends your turn.
- King: Standard king. Moves 1 square in any direction. Game ends if checkmated.
- Necro King: Necromancy. Spawn a bishop in your first 3 ranks.
- Teleport King: Teleport. Teleport to any empty square.
- Guardian King: Guardian Aura. One queen-style move. Reaching the enemy king gives check: they must move the king. Ends your turn.
